Welcome to Bradwell Silver Band
Bradwell Silver Band was founded on January 15th 1901 and can proudly claim that it has been in continuous existence for well over a century. Most of the original members lived in what was then rural North Buckinghamshire villages of Bradwell and Stantonbury and were employed at the London and North Western Railway Works in neighbouring Wolverton. These areas were later renamed Old Bradwell and New Bradwell respectively and although both areas retain their identities, they are now very much a part of the ever expanding development that is Milton Keynes. The railway works ceased to be a major employer by the 1980s and today’s membership is drawn from a cross section of trades and professions.
2018 is now in full swing and we already have our first contest under our belts. On the 24th March we competed in The ODBBA Winter Contest and came a well-deserved second place taking home much pride and some 'silverware'. Now we look forward to improving yet again on our great performance as we enter the Area Contest on Sunday 18th March 2018 in Stevenage, where we will again give our rendition of Rodney Newton's, 'World Tour'. A good performance there could see promotion in the sections.
Then it's on to April when we have two great concerts lined up. Saturday 21st April is the date for the first of our visits to St James Church in New Bradwell and Saturday 28th April sees the band perfom in Potterspury. We look forward to seeing you there.
